The slowest moving movie I think I have ever watched, but the apotheosis in the last 14 minutes became worth the whole slow ramp up. This film holds the theme of reclaiming innocence through the magic of music that opens the heart to a direct connection to the Divine. (Definition: apotheosis is when a song epitomizes how you feel).

Bob Dylan portrayed as the multi-faceted poet that he was over a whole lifetime.

This sequel to A Dog’s Purpose actually was not disappointing. There were pieces about forgiveness and unconditional love that made the movie well worth watching.

By the end of the film I could see the beauty in all points of view and choices. One speech delivered by a man at the dinner table changed my perception back to a non-dualistic awareness, that one can only come to over many life times.. that is that it is all OK whatever people choose. A great double feature with The Taste of Things.. both in a way about French cuisine, but from ultimately different view points.

A look from an alien’s perspective coming to Earth, seeing through the eyes of advanced consciousness, how ordinary things like “lipstick” and separation appear.

One of the most profound movies about a highly sensitive mind. It details this being’s journey into accepting his unusual mind and how love sustained him through the process.

This film explores identity, alternate realities and what it would be like to step into someone else’s mind. Very entertaining.

It was so inspiring to see his bold spirit make choices away from the predictable status quo to pursue his artistic vision and genius by going against the grain of current musical tastes and the pattern of predictable past successes.

This film is excellent to show how important it is to actually step into another’s position. Incredible and accurate scene about the first moments after physical death.

…a jarringly surrealistic movie written by Kurt Vonnegut about a used car salesman questioning the assumed culturally twisted values of his urban life, that uses advertising as an assault weapon to enslave hungry consumers in an insane culture. It is disturbing, bitingly sharp and unsettlingly witty. One of the first movies to warn us of the eco~crisis we’re now facing. (written in the 1960s) that points to the insanity of a culture that is wantonly destroying the planet it lives on.

This is a true story of a being with polio, that through his partner’s intense love and devoted service, and against unfathomable odds lived many years to watch his child grow up and to design a wheelchair that freed himself and many severely disabled after him from life as a prison, into life as a reason to celebrate! It is a deeply moving story about the triumph of the human spirit over extreme challenge. Highly recommended.

A fantasy about a boy who wants to live like a bird

This look at the short life of the eighteenth century poet John Keats, is a classic look at genius that wasn’t recognized until the artist has died…or rather genius which considers itself a failure due to the density of that which reflects it, some enchantingly beautiful scenes of English countryside and costuming, as his great love was a costume designer.

About the life of St. Francis and how he came to be all that he was against all cultural obstacles and judgment.

This film offers stunning cinematography of Eagles and an uplifting story about fathers, forgiveness, fate, which is set in a rite of passage drama about a young boy healing from the loss of his mother in a fire. Hisbonding with a baby eaglet who was pushed out of the nest, begins and supports that process  of healing. 

A very funny movie with Jim Carey about how he would run the world if he were god.

A look at the transformation that can occur when people face death. Lot of laughs and Jack Nicholson is his outrageous, self in the mix.

A brilliant and uplifting look at forests as sacred places where we can re-learn how to actually hear the song of Nature. This film shows how the oceans and forests are inextricably connected and mutually supportive. Highly recommended!

This beautiful, illuminating documentary about trees and their impact and interconnection directly with healthy oceans, is a real eye opener, with the perk of lush forest beauty from around the world to enjoy!

Extra-terrestrials and compassion for all life forms, (Ariel gives the scene in the swimming pool the “most steamy cosmic ero” award!)

This film centers around a 17 year old who is the sole hearing member of a deaf family — a CODA, child of deaf adults. Her life revolves around acting as an interpreter for her parents and working on the family’s struggling fishing boat every day before school with her father and older brother. When Ruby joins her high school’s choir club, she discovers a gift for singing and soon finds herself drawn to her duet partner Miles. Encouraged by her enthusiastic, tough-love choirmaster to apply to a prestigious music school, Ruby finds herself torn between the obligations she feels to her family and the pursuit of her own dreams. It is a a coming of age film, dealing with those issues, and is very much about holding compassion for those who perceive reality differently than we do.

A powerful testament and cautionary tale about the perils of women giving their power away to men, to be loved. Historically stealing women's work was "just the way it was" from Watson and Crick's DNA model not crediting Rosalind Franklins contribution, to Albert Einstein's wife, a physicist and mathematician named Mileva Maric. At the turn of the century women really weren't even published.  However, all the betrayals, in the end were made into a current that poured powerfully into her brilliant writing. Though she had been used and manipulated by her arrogant and manipulative male partner who took all the credit for writing everything she had written, she had freely given it away to be loved by him.. However, in the end, she broke free, divorced and was legally credited with the writing, to go on to critical acclaim with over 30 novels etc.

A deep look at death and the perception of reality embedded in a very moving story around the loss of a child.

At first it looks like a boring movie about how a pope is chosen with all the political intrigue and human foibles.... but the last 15 mins were worth the whole movie and it was a clear allegory for our time.. very potent!!

About one person’s journey of self discovery in her love of astronomy. Deeply moving, highly recommended. The sacred geometry alone is worth seeing the movie.

This movie tracks a strong, self empowered female priestess in remembrance, leading a circle of sisters through her powerful expression beginning at the age of 9 or so. Sad, funny, engaging. Really worth seeing!

Same theme as “Regarding Henry”, only with a doctor rather than a lawyer. He learns through his own suffering how to become compassionate and empathetic to the human condition.

An off the charts “feel good” movie about inter-species compassion, communication and a demonstration of what it looks like when we find what “lights us up” in life, and the miracles that flow from finding that place of passion for something. (Based on a true story.)

A brilliant parody of the rampant insanity of our current western cultural paradigm of superficiality, materialism, media control and skewed values. Couched in the metaphor of a comet coming to destroy the Earth, it is actually a thinly veiled cautionary tale about where we are presently headed with climate change if we don’t (look up) stop looking down and make a different choice!!

A story that speaks to communication between dimensions wherein a dead wife is trying to communicate with her husband and the tracking of that quest.

Is the adventure of a native American elder story teller who wants to get to Sundance and also to bring his grandson back into the native sacred ways. As they travel, he tells stories that are dramatized while similar things happen to them on their adventure.

This offbeat and eccentric comedy brings together two people who would otherwise never relate to each other to heal and forgive before death.

Is a deliciously funny movie about the inter-active nature of different dimensions of imagination and real, in this case with a girl and her imaginary playmate Fred. It is about parenting your inner child to face its fears and to claim its power.

This film is about the life of Emily Bronte a Victorian era English writer who was a free spirit who choose not to fit into the suffocating confines of societies rules. Her novel Wuthering Heights, a steamy novel for Victorian times, rocked the society around her in its bold expression of her truth.

A fluffy dragon-rider myth without too much content, but beautiful life like dragons.

A brilliant documentary film with Jim Al-Kalili about quantum physics and the brilliant, quirky scientists who persevered through prejudice and ignorance to pursue their truth. Also, Order and Chaos by the same man is an excellent take on this subject!

A powerful documentary about one woman’s devotion to the rehabilitation of hummingbirds.

A delightfully funny movie by woody allen about this subject.

(Very violent…prepare to cover your eyes a lot) A movie resolving duality through balancing of male and female powers. Great myth. Horrible violence.

The infamous, shadowy British graffiti street artist Banksy has literally left his mark on cities throughout the world. He comes in contact with Thierry Guetta, a Los Angeles-based Frenchman who videotapes various underground art escapades, and later is transformed into an art phenomenon dubbed "Mr. Brainwash." Rhys Ifans narrates an overlapping documentary where the line between what is real and what is fake blurs, as modern art and celebrity are put under the microscope that they should be.

The journey of two young English girls in the early 1900s who photograph fairies and their attempt to authenticate this discovery with the cynical 3d world.

the cinematography was lush, subtle and artful. I would recommend it just for the footage of the glorious beauty and intelligence of the goshawk. The slow pace of the movie lent itself to the nuanced portrayal of the intense personal relationship that the protagonist and the goshawk shared as she worked through the grief of her father's death. 

An absolutely inspiring film about a dog, whose loyalty is heart-warming and a moving model for how unconditional love operates.

Human motivation, self-empowerment. Asks questions of what is sanity/insanity and breaking away from the regular cultural definitions of Self. (“Rosencrantz and Gildenstern are Dead” is a look at the same myth from two minor characters point of view. Brilliant counterpoint to this)

A very inspiring look at how each action we take has profound consequences.

This documentary movie is about what makes us happy. It is a very good look as well at all the things that promise happiness, that don’t deliver it! Worth watching.

About living mythically and fully present. CARPE DIEM!! A delight.

A story of growing old and a man’s love and relationship with his cat.

A 1940’s retro-campy, stultifyingly stylized film with James Stewart, that made it difficult to stay with, but the message embedded it in was worth the discomfort of the artificial feeling acting. The film asked us to question our version of reality, based only on our own experience; to be willing to grasp that everyone lives in a separate reality, that we may or may not be able to recognize or experience.

(2015) Is a very touching story of how animals (raptors in this case) are a healing force in the redemption and rehabilitation of prisoners who had been hardened by their life experience. The film demonstrated how their relationship with the birds humanized and healed them. And as a bonus, the exquisite footage of the raptors in this film was worth the whole film.

Cinemagraphically one of the most lush films I’ve ever witnessed. Scenes were done in the four elemental colors (green, red, blue, white). See this on the biggest screen possible. Very impactful.

With the early US astronaut/space program as a backdrop, we are shown the lives of three very brilliant African American women and what was required for them to move past the walls of ignorance and enculturated prejudice, to be able to shine the gems of their unique and extraordinary intelligence.

A powerful film about the angst of an artist’s vision not being understood or  honored during her lifetime, about a woman giving her power away to a male authority figure.

Brilliantly incisive and clear myth about spiritual forgetting and remembrance and the reclamation of the Divine Child within each one of us.

This is an amazing story of how a creative artist is inspired by a woman’s love. A story of unrequited love. A deep look into a creative genius’ (Beethoven’s) mind.

Imagine in the setting of Victorian England a completely self-expressed, brilliant, creative woman writer, who dresses like a man and calls herself, George Sand, who falls in love with an extremely sensitive composer named Fredric Chopin. It is a study in passion and genius, and where that combination carries two beings of equal intensity and sensitivity. It is a worthy exploration taken from the real lives of these artists.

This Celtic story details our mythic longing for “home”. Many touching moments in this film, not to speak of absolutely amazing horse footage.

The dream sequences and gems of spiritual insight were not forced, hokey or new agey. It was a masterfully filmed and portrayed experience of spiritual awakening! Highly Recommended!

Watch for the word “tennis match”, it’s my favorite part and this is my favorite movie!

Like GROUNDHOG’S DAY, this keeps running a particular day over and over, showing how changing one choice creates a totally different outcome.

A sweet story about a 13 year old boy who wants a miracle for his mother who is in a coma, and because someone tells him it would take a miracle for him to win the Boston Marathon, he trains for it because he so believes he will win to create that miracle.

This film is ostensibly about the backstory of how the movie Mary Poppins came into being, but what it is brilliant at demonstrating is how our childhood wounding can be healed with awareness, compassion and mutual vulnerability.

It starkly portrays the embarrassingly crude stereotyping by white people of the two Native American protagonists along with the injurious consequences to their self-esteem.

A human’s love for a non-human companion and the gifts shared between them. Magic and respect for all life.

An enigmatic, slow moving experience of the Medieval myth of the Green Knight (drawing from the Celtic Green Man myth). This myth is a tale of initiation, in this case testing a knight’s honor. The violence in it felt like a theatrical contrivance that didn’t wrench guts with its veracity. Along the path, the initiate meets with the feminine whose “cut off head” he has to symbolically retrieve at the bottom of a lake. The director took many liberties in the interpretation of this ancient myth including the way it ended. But its lush cinematic beauty made it worth it.

Though this film is ostensibly about the more ruthless aspects of being in a boys boarding school with so many wounded beings acting harshly toward each other, it is actually about what it is to see through the eyes of compassion and learning to care about what has shaped each being into acting the way they presently are.

An intensely personal yet epic spiritual journey, “The Horse Boy” follows one Texas couple and their autistic son as they trek on horseback through outer Mongolia in an attempt to find healing for him.

If you love gourmet cuisine and you are interested in tuning

into the world of a gifted, young chef and having a look into all the subtleties of what it takes to step

into that gustatory gift, watch this film. But be prepared to be craving Indian food by the time you

A very slow moving film about dimensional consciousness, looked at from the point of view of being a highly developed spiritual skill rather than as a problem or psychologically labeling it as schizophrenia. It looks very realistically at crossing dimensional time lines and entering into different dimensional expressions of the Self. I found it fascinating.

his is a brilliant film that gets into the mind state of a pianist who lives his entire life on a cruise ship. His understanding of finite and infinite reality is very revelatory.

This film is constructed around a Walt Whitman quote from “Song of Myself”: “I am large, I contain multitudes.”. This line celebrates the complexity and inherent contradictions of human nature, suggesting that a person is a vast and complex being composed of many different, sometimes conflicting thoughts, beliefs and experiences.

This magical, visually intriguing drama is about a girl from India uprooted and put into an inner city school in NY. Focuses on her inner life and imagination.

A fascinating drama about the real-life story of a disempowered, amateur historian Philippa Langley, a woman whose passionate research led to the discovery of King Richard III’s burial site under a Leicester car park. However, the University of Leicester ran right over her and stole credit, claiming that they had made the discovery instead. She began to have visions of Richard who appears to her.. She joins the local Richard III Society who believe he was unfairly vilified by the king that came after him. Her research ends up finally exonerating his falsely denigrated, historical past.

Same old. Same old. A sorry state for intelligent women to have fallen for. Add a feisty, creative, intelligent art history teacher, whose intention it is to stretch the students edges in everything, to get them to think outside the box. Explosive! A worthy watch to see how far women have come since then. 

This film is a deeply moving account of continuing to believe in yourself, your unique gifts and your purpose for incarnating, even under the extreme circumstances of the resistance encountered. From congenital blindness, to being laughed at by cruelly harsh music critics, he managed to not give up.  It is the true story of the Italian opera singer,  Andrea Bocelli that poignantly details all that he endured to be able to actually offer his immense gift to this world. It provides an inspired perspective on the importance of silence in our lives. 

One of the most clear representations of the gates of mythic reality and the interactive nature of different dimensional realities available on film and belief in ones self and ones dreams. (sequel is not recommended shallow).

At a certain point in the spiritual journey, there is a shift from lensing reality solely from the ego/mind to a primary lens of surrender to the Divine Self. I recommend this film as a way to understand how the spiritual journey unfolds as we move through this seminal shift in awareness.

A film about multi-dimensional reality. Starts off strangely like a human drama, but becomes a very interesting look at dimensional existence and whether we are “awake” or “asleep”, which reality is “real”. Though intriguing throughout, the conclusion was a little disappointing for me, but close to the mark, to what I humbly feel is real, which is that we are ALL Divine Creator beings.

A slow moving little movie about the symbiosis of human’s and trees. (You might also want to see Eddie Murphy’s “1000 WORDS” movie, which I synchonistically saw together on the same night; both were about the same theme from different points of view!)

Another true story about the chess genius, Bobbie Fischer and the challenges he faced with his extremely sensitive intelligence. It details how he became unintentionally a pawn in the cold war between the USA and Russia. And of course how his challenges with genius played out in his life.

In this time of computer generated and AI art, this film is a stunning documentary and a moving testament to real art and real artists and what that focused commitment to being an artist actually requires. The artist and the thief who stole her art, come to a deep place of compassion and understanding of each other, due to her choice not to seek justice through the legal system, but rather to paint him, looking deeply beneath the surface.

This film certainly exposes the horrors of the art market, it's false values, greed and the inflated value of art as "investment". The general subject is how, through manipulation, the contemporary art market came to be so lucrative and greed riddled.

A witty, funny repartee/dialogue about the standard good/evil myth.

This film is a study in alienation, in how alienated most lives have become in general in Western culture. It has one message: Live life to the fullest, we are all going to die! Johnny Depp plays a professor with a diagnosis of cancer with six months to live.

It has one of the most authentic acting performances by a child I’ve ever witnessed. I felt she WAS this character. She was such a model of not being able to be stopped by all the male traditions that barred her from being a whale rider.

This brilliant documentary film looks at how we create reality quantumly.

We don’t usually think of plants as being about to communicate as this groundbreaking scientific research shows, they most certainly do have “consciousness” and adapt to communications that they share. Fascinating!
